The Leap of Faith
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, lean not on your own understanding. In all of your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your path straight. [Proverbs 3:5-6]
When a man jumps out of a doomed plane, he places all his trust in his parachute. He knows that only it can save his life. What if he instead jumped out with an umbrella? Or better yet, what if he just flapped his arms about, thinking he’d be able to fly and save himself? A first-class fool is what I’d christen him.
But hang on. Before we judge this man, we just might be guilty of the same thing, on a more serious level!
More often than not, we put our trust in objects, our jobs, our capabilities, our friends or even ourselves. While this may provide temporary comfort, hope, and other fuzzy feelings, God is the only One…
